The LulzBot OctoGrab™ Magnetic Flex Bed v2 provides an easy to use part removal experience without the use of scrapers.
High temperature neodymium magnets are seated into a machined 5052 aluminum plate, combined with a textured powder coated PEI sheet this creates a versatile, convenient build plate system. The rare earth neodymium magnets do not lose magnetism, even after long or high temperature print jobs allowing for safe, repeatable and easy part removal.

Make Print Removal More Convenient

Instead of struggling to remove parts directly from your 3D printer, you can now quickly remove the entire OctoGrab™ textured PEI sheet from the print bed along with your finished 3D printed part. Take your magnetic OctoGrab™ textured PEI print surface and the finished part to a comfortable work area, bend the flexible OctoGrab™ textured PEI bed in any direction, and your 3D print should release from the textured PEI surface with ease.

This simple upgrade to your LulzBot 3D printer can make a big difference in your printing experience. TPU handles on the OctoGrab™ spring steel print surface allow for easy removal of the print bed while still warm and aids in realigning the surface when replacing the print surface on the magnetic bed.

Strong Adhesion, Easy Part Removal

The special high-temperature neodymium magnets embedded in the 1/8" thick 5052 aluminum plate can hold up to 140C° for extended durations without losing any magnetic field strength over time, unlike standard print bed magnets which can start losing field strength around 100C°.

The replaceable spring steel sheet has a layer of polycarbonate film on the back and a smooth sheet of PEI on the top printing surface. The PEI sheets are comparable to LulzBot's original glass/PEI printing surface but offer a stronger grip of 3D prints to the 3D printing bed during printing and even easier release of finished 3D prints. 

Coated in a durable high strength powdered coated PEI, this Magnetic Bed Assembly is long lasting and improves ease of use when 3D printing.  The Magnetic Bed v2, machined from a solid aluminum plate, can hold temperatures up to 140C° for extended durations without losing any magnetic field strength over time, unlike standard print bed magnets which can start losing field strength around 100C°.

Overview

Upgrading is easy. 


If your LulzBot TAZ  already has a LulzBot Modular Print Bed System installed, this upgrade simply replaces your Glass/PEI Print Surface.  If you do not already have the TAZ Etched Modular Print Bed Heater you must also purchase one with your OctoGrab™ Magnetic Flex Bed v2.  


To upgrade, simply remove the four bed leveling washers and existing glass/PEI bed from your TAZ Etched Modular Print Bed Heater equipped TAZ printer.  Insert the OctoGrab™ aluminum magnetic base on top of the TAZ Etched Modular Print Bed Heater and replace your bed leveling washers.


Important: Adjust your Z offset to the new print surface and start printing!
