Make Print Removal A Snap!
Instead of struggling to remove parts directly from your 3D printer, you can now quickly remove the entire OctoGrab™ spring steel PEI sheet from the print bed along with your finished 3D printed part. Take your OctoGrab™ spring steel sheet and the 3D print to a comfortable work area, bend the flexible OctoGrab™ spring steel sheet in any direction, and your 3D print should release from the smooth PEI surface with ease.
This simple upgrade to your LulzBot 3D printer can help improve your printing experience. TPU handles on the OctoGrab™ spring steel sheet allow for easy removal of the print bed while still warm and aids in realigning the surface when placing the print surface back on the magnetic bed.
Strong Adhesion, Easy Part Removal
The special high-temperature neodymium magnets embedded in the 1/8' thick 6061 aluminum plate can hold up to 140c for extended durations without losing magnetic field strength, unlike standard print bed magnets which can start losing field strength around 100c. Our magnets are encapsulated inside a thin polycarbonate sheet for protection.
The OctoGrab™ spring steel sheet has a layer of polycarbonate film on the back for alignment and a smooth sheet of PEI on the top for printing. The PEI sheets are comparable to LulzBot's original glass/PEI printing surface but offer an even easier release of finished 3D prints!
Quick & Easy Upgrade
Upgrading is quick and easy. The OctoGrab™ Magnetic Flex bed system will fit on any LulzBot Mini or TAZ that has the Etched Modular Print Bed System. Simply remove the four bed leveling washers and existing Glass/PEI bed. Place the OctoGrab™ aluminum magnetic base on top of the Etched Modular Print Bed Heater and replace your bed leveling washers. Adjust your Z offset to the new print surface and start printing! After prolonged use, you may need to prep the PEI build surface on your OctoGrab™ surface. The LulzBot OctoGrab™ Magnetic Flex bed is made in the USA, with a focus on local and regional supply chains, LulzBot printers are as rugged as the plains of North Dakota where they are manufactured.
Compatibility Note:
Mini 1 and TAZ 6 printers must be equipped with the Etched Modular Print Bed System before installing the OctoGrab. It is compatible with TAZ Workhorse, TAZ Pro, TAZ Pro S, TAZ Pro XT, and Mini 2 with no additional upgrades. This upgrade is not currently compatible with the TAZ 5 and earlier models.
