Our friend Andrew Mazzotta – or, as you may know him, AndrewUpandAbout on YouTube – has produced a great “unboxing” video showcasing our AO-100. Filmed on Halloween, the video features a few cute gags and a lot of great information.
Andrew, a dedicated expert in the 3D printing field, has done quite a few other videos in this vein with other brands of printers. However, just as he points out: where the other printers have felt like consumer products, the AO-100 looks, feels, and acts like a compact independent manufacturing center. Andrew's expertise offers unique insight into the machine, so we couldn't be happier to have him working with our projects.
In the video, Andrew notes a few things about the design-- which, as it happens, are some of our favorite features. He points out how it is, in a very literal sense, totally open. Our libre software sensibility is reflected by the machine itself, in the sense that you can see-- and tinker with-- any and every part of the product.
Andrew will run you through the basic set up of the printer, including connecting the power supply and the circuitboards.
